It was a beautiful evening cycling through the vineyards. When we arrived at St Martin we locked the bikes to a railing at the side of the harbour and started to wander around looking for a restaurant which took our fancy. We must have checked out every restaurant in the town but eventually we found a lovely little restaurant situated away from the main town overlooking the harbour but from the opposite side.

I went inside to enquire if there were any tables available. She asked if I had a reservation and I said no. She asked if I would mind sitting outside and I said no that would be fine. It was a lovely evening and I wanted to enjoy the atmosphere outside and watch the goings on around the harbour. We had been sat there a while and had ordered our wine and food when Pug then notices a sign on the door of the restaurant stating that the restaurant was listed in the Michelin guide. This then made our expectations rise for the food we were about to eat. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the chocolate fondant I had for desert was divine. During our meal we were at one point surprised to hear a Welsh accent talking about Cardiff City football. When we looked around to see who it was we were again surprised to see Neil Kinnock and his family also enjoying the restaurants’ delicious menu.
Once we had finished eating our food we paid the bill and wandered around looking at the street artists and performers around the harbour. It was now dark and we realised we would have to head back on our bikes in the pitch black of night along those deserted paths through the vineyards and salt marshes. Most of the cycle back was very spooky and scary but when we were about half way back to the apartments a wonderful firework display started and because the land was so flat we were able to watch as we were riding along. It just added to the most magical evenings I can ever remember.
