The previous night we had decided that we wouldn’t be requiring the bikes so returned them back to the shop. Again we just hung around the local beach and apartment pool for most of the day slowly preparing for our return journey home. We went for a stroll into La Couarde Sur Mer town centre were there was a market and a few shops. Rhi bought a hoodie with ‘I Love Re’ on the front and I bought a few gifts for family and friends.

In the afternoon Pug took Dyl to the beach to have a go at some skim boarding. Up till now he not been able to practice as he had been suffering with his cut foot from the coral and then mashed toes from his bike crash. I was surprised to see them returning after a few minutes with Pug carrying Dyl on his back. Closer inspection revealed what looked like a broken toe. Since there is not much you can do about a broken toe we packed it with ice and decided that if his toe was still bad in the morning we would take him to the hospital in La Rochelle.
In the evening we found a lovely restaurant just down the road where we had a lovely meal before retiring ready for our long journey home the following morning.
